Born in Mexico City, Diana Garay is a renowned cinematographer, documentary filmmaker and director. She graduated from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica.
So far, She has photographed two feature films and a documentary: "Distancias Cortas" by Alejandro Guzmán, "Leona" by Isaac Cherem and "Takeda" by Yaasib Vázquez respectively, which have been screened in multiple national and international festivals. Her work as cinematographer has awarded her the Best Cinematography Award given by the Pantalla de Cristal Magazine for “Walking Distance” and the Cinematography Honourable mention for her work in the documentary “TAKEDA” at the 5th ADF Film Photografy Festival.
Diana Garay, is also a founding member of Apertura DOP, the first Mexican association of cinematographers that is devoted not only to promoting the work and talent of its members but also to the education and professionalization of women in her guild.
