Andrea Gonzalez Mereles is a Mexican narrative cinematographer currently based in the United States. She attended Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. She's been supported by the world's most prestigious institutions throughout her career; the Fulbright Program, Film Independent's Project Involve, AFI and the Berlin International Film Festival's Berlinale Talents. She's an active member of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers and Apertura. Her films have been screened in multiple international film festivals; Viena, Zurich, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Rhode Island, among others.
Her true interest lies in telling character driven stories. Cinematography is a professional journey she's embarked on but it's also a personal one. Her intention is to understand what it means to be a human being; our weaknesses, strengths and doubts to portray it in her body of work. She believe is filmmaking as a collaborative effort and in story above all.
